History

Ukrainian Research Institute of Special Printing Processes was established in 1960 as a branch of the All-Union Research Institute of the printing industry to solve important problems for the development of printing equipment, materials and technologies for the production of new types of printed materials. From 1963 the branch was renamed the Kiev branch of the All-Union Research Institute and in 1969 it was turned into the Kiev branch of the All-Union Research Institute of Complex Problems Printing.

In 1991 the Kiev branch of the All-Union Research Institute of Complex Problems Printing was renamed into the Ukrainian Research Institute of Special Printing Processes. In 2001 the Institute acquired the status of Open Joint-Stock Company «Ukrainian Research Institute of Special Printing Processes» and in 2010 it was renamed into Private Joint-Stock Company «Ukrainian Research Institute of Special Printing Processes» Сorporate Enterprise SJSC «Ukrvydavpoligrafiya».

Over 55 years of its history, the Institute changed its name, subordination, ownership. However, despite these changes, the Institute was aimed at the development of Special Printing (research and development equipment, materials and technology stencilling, flexographic, offset and other printing methods) for printing packing, industrial products made of paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, wood and other materials. During this time the Institute scientists designed 50 types of printing equipment, invented more than 50 series inks, developed nearly 100 kinds of standards, technical specifications, technologic orders production regulations etc., conducted examination of the quality of printed materials and inks.
